Oh, hey there.
Welcome to a little place I call my knitting blog. Sit down and make yourself comfortable. Stay a while.
I assume you’ve found yourself here because you want to embrace your inner O.G. Grandma. I can’t blame you.
That said, knowing where to start on your journey can be a bit difficult. There are a ton of websites and YouTube videos that offer knitting how-to’s — so which one is best? Well, mine obviously. 😉
Most of the instructions out there are confusing and overwhelming (to me anyway). Strange diagrams with arrows pointing in 100 different directions. Blurry, out of focus videos. People going too fast, or cameras that don’t really show you what’s going on and instead show someone’s hand blocking the way. No thanks.
While getting better obviously comes with practice, I think it should be easier for beginners to get into knitting.
So here we are.
Get Started: Knitting for Beginners
Don’t know anything about knitting? That’s ok. You’ve come to the right place. Learning to knit can feel overwhelming at first. Most of the videos on the internet are either confusing, too advanced, or made in the 70’s. I understand. I feel ya. And I’ll try to make it simple.
Tools of the Trade
So you went to the craft store and realized that there is more to knitting than picking out your favorite color yarn and the cheapest knitting needle. Learn more about the different types of yarns and knitting needles out there.
Dive Deeper
Well, these are just things about knitting that you should probably know and understand as you start to go through the process of learning how to knit.
